Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test is conducted for all those students who aspire to take admission in various Bachelor courses in Andhra Pradesh.APSCHE(Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education) has nominated JNTU to conduct EAMCET 2009.
Courses Available:B E,B Pharmacy,B Tech(FS & T),B Tech(Agri. Engg),B Tech( Dairy),B V. Sc and A. H,B Sc(Hort)B F Sc,B Tech( FS & T), B Sc(CA & BM), MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS, B Pharmacy/B Tech(Bio-Technology)

Eligibility for EAMCET:·

The candidate must be an Indian and must belong to Andhra Pradesh.· The candidate must above 17 years and should be less than 22 years of age.· The candidates belonging to SC/ST category are given 3 years relaxation in the required age· A pass in Intermediate Examination or appearance at 2nd year Intermediate Examination (10 + 2 pattern) conducted by the A.P. Board of Intermediate Education, with appropriate optional subjects or its equivalent thereto.· A pass at Diploma examination or appearance at final year Diploma Examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P. or its equivalent thereto. Diploma candidates are eligible to apply for B.E/B.Tech/B.pharm courses only. Diploma in pharmacy are eligible to apply for Pharm-D course.

EAMCET Exam Pattern:

1. All the questions in the examination will be of Multiple Choice Type
2. There will be a total of 160 questions
3. The duration of the exam will e 3 hours
4. Each question will carry one mark
5. The question in the exam will be divided as:

Mathematics 80
Physics 40
Chemistry 40

Weightage of Marks: 25 % weitage is given for Intermediate marks

JNTU holds the record of conducting the EAMCET for maximum number of times (12 years)
EAMCET – 2009 was conducted on the 14th May 2009.

Opinions and Views about EAMCET 2009 paper:

· Students were of opinion that chemistry paper of engineering stream was tough, while the mathematics paper was time consuming.
· In medical stream, six to seven questions in Biology were found to be highly complicated.
Errors in EAMCET 2009 paper:A total of seven errors have been identified in the EAMCET key released by the EAMCET convener.

Grace marks in EAMCET 2009:

Candidates from Engineering Stream will be awarded – 2 grace marksCandidates from Medical Stream will be awarded – 1 grace mark

Guidance for choosing courses:The annual career counselling programmes organised by The Hindu Education Plus for successful candidates of EAMCET, will be organized in 13 centers across the State from June 1.
